Nikon D60 Camera

Nikon D60 Review

The following are the short Nikon D60 reviews.
Review 1: The Nikon D60 is well built and straight forward to use. The strengths of the D40 have been refined and expanded though little genuinely new is included.

The basic setting has the camera shooting RAW images with a highly compressed JPEG duplicate of each picture. While the RAW files produce excellent results they are often difficult to use and will require complex software.

The tone and contrast of pictures is good and colour balance metering performs well on the Nikon D60. The whit balance shows some problems in difficult situations but performs very well compared to similarly priced competitors.

The D60 is available as body only, packaged with an 18-55 mm lens, or with the lens and shake reduction function. The difference in price is little and the latter of the three options would seem to offer good value for money, especially to first time digital SLR buyers. A success.

Review 2: Not a world apart from its predicessor but the Nikon D60 remains a good, solid 10 mega pixel entry level DSLR. Not quite a Nikon D3, but at least as good value for those without a spare 3 grand kicking about. Easy to use and handle it produces good looking shots in its fully automtic modes. Ideal for a first time DSLR buyer.

Review 3: A real gem. Consumers should want one, pros would do well to carry one. The Nikon D60 is from one of the finest ‘family’ cameras on the market easily upholding the standards of its predecessors.
